MY COMPUTER IS ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Here are two more radio stations from around the country playing “American popular standards” that you can listen to on your computer, which I found courtesy of www.radio-locator.com

* SUNNY 1550 KKAD – “Portland, Oregon’s only station for classic American standards of yesterday and today.” This station features such hosts as Les Brown Jr, son of the bandleader of renown, and Deana Martin Griffeth, Dino’s daughter, broadcasting from Branson MO, Peter Marshall of Hollywood Squares fame (who I remember seeing many, many, many years ago on Broadway in the Sammy Cahn/Jimmy Van Heusen musical SKYSCRAPER), fellow game-show host Wink Martindale, and Gary “Beautiful Downtown Burbank” Owens. Go to www.1550kkad.com.

* AM 1160 WABY – “Moon Radio” from Mechanicville, NY. The Moon brings you “the classic stars who made American Music great”. Go to www.saratogamoon.com.

I also discovered WJAS 1320AM, an oldies station from Pittsburg PA that every Saturday morning at 9:00 am plays a classic original cast album on THE BEST OF BROADWAY. This morning it is CALL ME MADAM with Ethel Merman (her father was an accountant). Go to www.1320wjas.com.
