WHAT’S THE BUZZ, TELL ME WHAT’S A HAPPENNIN’?

* Rob Berger lists “6 Reasons Not To Celebrate The Payroll Tax Holiday” at FORBES.COM.

Be aware of his #3, which says (highlight is mine) –

The taxes will not be forgiven, regardless of what Mr. Trump may think.”

And –

Putting aside the obvious attempt to buy an election that even this conservative can't ignore, a president doesn't have the authority to cancel a tax.”

By now we should all know that nothing Trump does gives anyone with a brain and a conscience a reason to celebrate.  Except, of course, if he were to resign.

* And Schedule C filers will get no relief from Trump’s nonsense.  Doug Sword tells us “Self-employed won’t get to defer taxes under Trump’s payroll break” at ROLLCALL.COM -

Millions of self-employed individuals would be left out of President Donald Trump’s move to defer payroll taxes for the last four months of the year, according to tax experts.

That’s because the executive action specifically refers to taxes paid under Sec. 3101(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, which set the Social Security tax rate at 6.2 percent for those employed by someone else. There is no similar reference to Sec. 1401(a), which requires the self-employed to pay 12.4 percent on their own wages, or both the employer and employee share of Social Security taxes.”

THE LAST WORD

I was born in November of 1953.

The most disturbing political development in my lifetime is the rise to power of Trump.

It is inconceivable to me how an ignorant, incompetent and completely self-absorbed reality tv cartoon clown, who is totally unfit to hold any office of power and responsibility at any level, could become the President of the United States.

Trump has consistently and unapologetically committed every single ‘bad act” that has ever derailed a political career in the past.  Yet he is in the White House.

This is clear proof that the “dumbing down of America” is indeed a reality.

And Trump was put in the White House despite losing the election by 3 Million votes.  This is why we must do away with the Electoral College.
