* It’s
here! The “2022 PNC Christmas Price Index” that is. The PNC Christmas Price
Index® is an annual tradition which shows the current cost for one set of each
of the gifts given in the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas”. This is the 39th year the index
has been calculated.
Two
take-aways from this year’s calculation –
· The
year-over-year increase in 2022 is the third highest on record.
· Inflation for services far outstripped goods in this year's index.
The
biggest increase is in the cost of the 5 gold rings – up 39.1% from 2021. And once again it has been proven that
performing artists have a better union than musicians – the 10 leaping Lords,
for example, received a 24.2% pay increase while pipers and drummers only got a
modest 2.6% increase. Milking maids received
no increase in pay.
The cost
of a partridge, calling bird and swan remained the same as 2021 – no increase.

Correct me if I am wrong –
But isn’t the agenda of the so-called “liberals” of
the Democratic Party – tolerance, acceptance, equality, caring for others,
individual freedom – more in line with the actual teachings of Christ than the
bigoted and repressive agenda of the “Religious Right” Republican Party?
